Homemade Coloring Books!!!

Ever have trouble finding a coloring book for your little ones that is of their favorite character?  I have trouble finding lots stuff for Sully right now, he is into Mario and they just don't sell much Mario merchandise anywhere.  So I came up with a solution to our coloring book trouble yesterday and made one of my own!  The kids colored their pages before I got them in our book but Fallon didn't finish all her coloring so she can now go back and finish what she hasn't colored yet.  Here's how we made ours!  Enjoy!

First of all google coloring pages of your kiddos favorite character.  I of course, googled Mario and here are a few of the pages that I found!

Next my kiddos started their coloring!

While they colored I printed off a cover for our books (I also used a colored piece of paper for the back)!

Next needed ribbon, a hole punch, and some scissors.  I had some extra ribbon around the house but you could use several things for the ribbon (yarn, staples, brads,etc.).  Just be sure to set out the correct amount of material needed to secure your book together before getting starting to make this step easier on yourself.

Next I made three hole punches (this is much easier if you have a 3-hole punch not just a 1-hole punch).

After your hole punches are made start threading your ribbon through.

Once your ribbon is through voila!  A fun coloring book!

These are a perfect way for your little ones to have a coloring book of their favorite character and for showing off their artwork to Daddy once he gets home from work!!!

Capes!

My cape adventure started when Sully decided to put his arms through the handles on a wal-mart bag and proceed to wear that wal-mart bag all day long as a "cape."  Seeing this and realizing how badly my adorable little four year old wanted a "Super Mario Flying Cape" I realized I had to make my kiddos capes!  This was my first ever sewing project and I am thrilled with the way the capes turned out!  Sully has only taken his off twice (at bath time, and bed time, because we couldn't let him wear a string around his neck at bed time) since I gave it to him yesterday morning and Fallon loves hers as well just not as much as her big brother.  I'd say they are a hit and they were the perfect first sewing project for me!

How do you think I did?!

Family Movie Night!!!

We have started a new tradition in our household!  Family Movie Night every Friday!!  I have to say I am loving it!  Last week started with Ice Age and we continued this week with The Aristo Cats!  It's fun family time and maybe later on in our kids life it can evolve into Family Game Night.  Until then we will continue to enjoy the cuddle time and fun with our kiddos!  I must say I do absolutely love my life!  I love that I have kids that love to cuddle, and a husband that loves to do stuff with us, we are truly a blessed family!

Do you have any family traditions you have started in your home?  Please share with me what they are, I would love to hear!

The Fourth!!!

Finally a post about the Fourth of July!!  Our fourth was wonderful!  Aside from the rain that is.  It rained most of the day which made our cook-out not so much fun.  Although after the rain let up for a few, and we got food in our bellies. things started to look up!  My sister and I went and bought a few fireworks and we had a little display of our own before heading to watch the big fireworks show put on by our wonderful city!  The kids had a blast and we all went to bed exhausted.  Fallon even held a sparkler!  It was a good day all in all, and here we are a few weeks later and Sully asked me this morning to go buy him more fireworks.

Fallon singing and yelling at mommy!!!

My daughter is so so something!!!  Today we were singing our ABCs and she doesn't know all the letters yet but she does love to try and sing her ABCs in the second video she even gets the EFG!!  Anywho enjoy her little hello, and yelling at me in her crazy voice, and the wonderful TADA at the end!!!

P.S. Don't forget to scroll down and pause my music player so you can hear miss Fallon and not the music!

Adorable places to find Adorable things!!!

I wanted to be posting about fourth of July today but since my camera is still in my jeep it seems I am left posting about another thing entirely!  It's ok though because its about cute sights to buy little girly bows and fun fun stuff!  Fallon even got featured on a website modeling a bow!  So fun!  Also with the holiday season just around the corner (yes, I am already thinking about it) these places have wonderful options for the little cutie pie girls in your lives!!!

Fell in love with this poem today!!!

To My Grown Up Son
by Alice E. Chase

My hands were busy through the day,

I didn't have much time to play

The little games you asked me to,

I didn't have much time for you.

I'd wash your clothes; I'd sew and cook,

But when you'd bring your picture book

And ask me, please, to share your fun,

I'd say, "A little later, son."

I'd tuck you in all safe at night,

And hear your prayers, turn out the light,

Then tiptoe softly to the door,

I wish I'd stayed a minute more.

For life is short, and years rush past,

A little boy grows up so fast,

No longer is he at your side,

His precious secrets to confide.

The picture books are put away,

There are no children's games to play,

No goodnight kiss, no prayers to hear,

That all belongs to yesteryear.

My hands once busy, now lie still,

The days are long and hard to fill,

I wish I might go back and do,

The little things you asked me to.
