Homemade Coloring Books!!!

Ever have trouble finding a coloring book for your little ones that is of their favorite character?  I have trouble finding lots stuff for Sully right now, he is into Mario and they just don't sell much Mario merchandise anywhere.  So I came up with a solution to our coloring book trouble yesterday and made one of my own!  The kids colored their pages before I got them in our book but Fallon didn't finish all her coloring so she can now go back and finish what she hasn't colored yet.  Here's how we made ours!  Enjoy!

First of all google coloring pages of your kiddos favorite character.  I of course, googled Mario and here are a few of the pages that I found!

Next my kiddos started their coloring!

While they colored I printed off a cover for our books (I also used a colored piece of paper for the back)!

Next needed ribbon, a hole punch, and some scissors.  I had some extra ribbon around the house but you could use several things for the ribbon (yarn, staples, brads,etc.).  Just be sure to set out the correct amount of material needed to secure your book together before getting starting to make this step easier on yourself.

Next I made three hole punches (this is much easier if you have a 3-hole punch not just a 1-hole punch).

After your hole punches are made start threading your ribbon through.

Once your ribbon is through voila!  A fun coloring book!

These are a perfect way for your little ones to have a coloring book of their favorite character and for showing off their artwork to Daddy once he gets home from work!!!

Capes!

My cape adventure started when Sully decided to put his arms through the handles on a wal-mart bag and proceed to wear that wal-mart bag all day long as a "cape."  Seeing this and realizing how badly my adorable little four year old wanted a "Super Mario Flying Cape" I realized I had to make my kiddos capes!  This was my first ever sewing project and I am thrilled with the way the capes turned out!  Sully has only taken his off twice (at bath time, and bed time, because we couldn't let him wear a string around his neck at bed time) since I gave it to him yesterday morning and Fallon loves hers as well just not as much as her big brother.  I'd say they are a hit and they were the perfect first sewing project for me!

How do you think I did?!

Family Movie Night!!!

We have started a new tradition in our household!  Family Movie Night every Friday!!  I have to say I am loving it!  Last week started with Ice Age and we continued this week with The Aristo Cats!  It's fun family time and maybe later on in our kids life it can evolve into Family Game Night.  Until then we will continue to enjoy the cuddle time and fun with our kiddos!  I must say I do absolutely love my life!  I love that I have kids that love to cuddle, and a husband that loves to do stuff with us, we are truly a blessed family!

Do you have any family traditions you have started in your home?  Please share with me what they are, I would love to hear!

The Fourth!!!

Finally a post about the Fourth of July!!  Our fourth was wonderful!  Aside from the rain that is.  It rained most of the day which made our cook-out not so much fun.  Although after the rain let up for a few, and we got food in our bellies. things started to look up!  My sister and I went and bought a few fireworks and we had a little display of our own before heading to watch the big fireworks show put on by our wonderful city!  The kids had a blast and we all went to bed exhausted.  Fallon even held a sparkler!  It was a good day all in all, and here we are a few weeks later and Sully asked me this morning to go buy him more fireworks.

Fallon singing and yelling at mommy!!!

My daughter is so so something!!!  Today we were singing our ABCs and she doesn't know all the letters yet but she does love to try and sing her ABCs in the second video she even gets the EFG!!  Anywho enjoy her little hello, and yelling at me in her crazy voice, and the wonderful TADA at the end!!!

P.S. Don't forget to scroll down and pause my music player so you can hear miss Fallon and not the music!

Adorable places to find Adorable things!!!

I wanted to be posting about fourth of July today but since my camera is still in my jeep it seems I am left posting about another thing entirely!  It's ok though because its about cute sights to buy little girly bows and fun fun stuff!  Fallon even got featured on a website modeling a bow!  So fun!  Also with the holiday season just around the corner (yes, I am already thinking about it) these places have wonderful options for the little cutie pie girls in your lives!!!

Fell in love with this poem today!!!

To My Grown Up Son
by Alice E. Chase

My hands were busy through the day,

I didn't have much time to play

The little games you asked me to,

I didn't have much time for you.

I'd wash your clothes; I'd sew and cook,

But when you'd bring your picture book

And ask me, please, to share your fun,

I'd say, "A little later, son."

I'd tuck you in all safe at night,

And hear your prayers, turn out the light,

Then tiptoe softly to the door,

I wish I'd stayed a minute more.

For life is short, and years rush past,

A little boy grows up so fast,

No longer is he at your side,

His precious secrets to confide.

The picture books are put away,

There are no children's games to play,

No goodnight kiss, no prayers to hear,

That all belongs to yesteryear.

My hands once busy, now lie still,

The days are long and hard to fill,

I wish I might go back and do,

The little things you asked me to.

Fallon dancing!!

I promised myself I would get three posts up today and what better way to end than with a new Fallon dancing clip!!!  She is kind of jamming like a bobble head haha but she's having fun with it!!!  Ignore her brother being mean to her.  He sure has his boy moments sometimes.  Enjoy!!!

Don't forget to scroll down and shut off my music player so you don't have two things going at the same time!!

Swimming-Swimming-Swimming!!!

Marigold Update!!!

Finally I am posting a marigold update!!! I know, I know it took me long enough! It's been busy around here lately though. I started watching an adorable little eight month old and life got that much crazier! Promise to update about all of that and more but for now remember our marigolds? We have still been watering them and the one in the middle seems to be more like a tree than a flower! See when we planted them the pot got knocked over by our nutty dog and now I think we only ended up with the one seed in there and it's growing like crazy!!! Anywho showing is better than telling so here is our picture update!!!

Hello from our cuties!!!

Haven't posted in a few figured I would say hello really quick!!! We took some silly pictures today and I thought I would share.

Smiley Girl!

Handsome boy!

Cute kids!

Little miss and her sunglasses!

Painted toenails and adorable sandles!!!
(Totally love dressing up my girl!!! I love dressing up the boy too but he doesn't let me do much anymore.)

Fallon!!!

My daughter loves to dance and the other day she was being totally silly with it so I whipped out the camera and recorded her.  Sorry it's dark but you can make out her and what she's doing.  I thought it was funny and cute!  Also for some reason she had to put on a hat for this particular dance haha!  Enjoy!

You may want to scroll down to the bottom of the page and pause my music player so you don't hear two sounds going crazy at once.

Ramblings

Hi blog followers!!! How have you guys been? We seem to have gotten much busier around here. Shopping and going out and doing stuff and cleaning and playing the list continues forever! The point is I have been neglecting you. I hope everyone has been enjoying the sun, or if you are like us the rain. I can tell ya though I wouldn't mind some sun about now. The kiddos are going stir crazy! I also am not enjoying the mud the dog keeps dragging in but oh well that's life it's easy to clean up I suppose.

There really isn't much new going on round here. We resigned our lease so we will be in our current location for at least another year, we made a huge decision to have no more children and my husband asks that I not talk about the fact that he is scheduled to have surgery on the 28th to have a permanent change made. Oops guess I just talked about it haha! I really need to say something about it though. I am having second thoughts about having that permanent fix being done. I know in my head that more children isn't going to happen but try telling that to my heart. No more tiny babies at home to watch grow up and do all their firsts. It makes me sad but on the same side it makes me happy. That also means no more diapers, no more 2 am feedings, no more worrying about the costs that come along with a newborn. I also get to start having a life outside of my home which is going to be a major shock to me at first. Sully is about to start preschool, and Fallon daycare shortly thereafter, which means momma gets to go to school, and get a job, and have a life away from my children again. I think that scares me more than anything. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself! I have no idea what I want to be in life. I have had ideas over the years but for some reason or another I just keep changing my mind and I don't know. I am scared and excited about all of this and I know I'm ready to not have more children but it still makes me a little sad. I think it would any woman to know that she was at the end of having babies, but where am I going to go with my life? I have no clue. Wish me luck! I am going to need it and I promise if I figure it out anytime soon I will let you guys know!

P.S. Sorry about the rambling, just needed to get that off my chest somewhere. Also, stay tuned later in the day for a craft post! We are going to make egg carton caterpillars!!

Tent fun!!!

My parents got the kids tents for Christmas! We pulled them out and have been having loads of fun playing in them!!
